An SBI Customer Service Point (CSP) known as Grahak Sahay Kendra can be set up to cater to the financial activities of local residents in areas where there are no SBI branches and in areas with high traffic SBI branches.

The largest bank, State Bank of India (SBI) has its branches operating in every corner of the country. But such a system is a solution for the customers of SBI Bank because there are still no SBI branches in many villages in remote areas and congestion in some branches.

Thus an authorized person can start SBI's Kiosk Banking Model Customer Service Points (CSPs) to serve people in remote areas and the CSP initiator can earn a good commission based on the services rendered through it.

An institution that gets SBI customer service points can operate itself as a mini bank

Opening an account
Printing of passbook
Deposit and withdrawal of money
Money transfer
Jan Dhan Account
Atal Pension Yojna
PM Jeevan Jyoti Yojna
etc. services can be provided through SBI Customer Service Point.

A person aged 21 years or above and having completed +2 with basic knowledge of computer can apply to open SBI Customer Service Point.

But the application should be made by a person of local reputation with no criminal background and a suitable space to run the establishment.

Also all the following documents should be with you to apply

Id Proof (Voter Id/Driving License/Passport etc.)
PAN Card
Address Proofs for Residential and Shop both
Shop Agreement
Character/Police Verification Certificate
Educational Certificates (10th onwards

To provide services through SBI Customer Service Point

➤ Two computers with internet connectivity (must be Windows 7 or above operating system and have at least 4GB RAM, 5GB hard disk and 5 hours battery backup if laptop)
➤ Scannermoney counting machine
➤ Two printers (inkjet+ dot matrix) for printed acknowledgment of each transaction
➤ Bi-metric authentication for secure transactions
etc. should be prepared.

A person who wants to open an SBI CSP should check whether there is an SBI branch in that area or an already functioning CSP or not.
It is important to apply for opening CSP only if you are sure that this is not the case at present.
The steps to apply are as follows.

Step 1: You have to visit the nearest SBI branch and meet the branch manager there expressing your desire to open a CSP in your area.

Step 2: After verifying your credentials and eligibility, the branch manager will redirect you to the bank's Regional Business Office (RBO) where your request will be processed.

Step 3: You can also directly approach your local RBO for a CSP. You can get information about RBO by clicking on .

Step 4: Apart from the RBO, the branch manager can also redirect you to a privately run CSP service provider to help you set up an SBI CSP in your area.

Step 5: You can check your respective service provider online and fill an online registration form.

Step 6: The service provider will forward the submitted application and required documents to SBI for verification.

Step 7: After validation, you will be notified via mail or SMS with a unique code for logging into your SBI CSP account.

Step 8: You will receive the necessary training before your CSP becomes operational.

The whole process of getting SBI CSP sanctioned is quick if you go through the CSP service provider route. However, you should be wary of any fraud done to you in terms of unnecessary charges and advances.
You don't have to pay anything extra except the registration charge before the CSP is granted.
